Teacher leaders moved their meeting outside on Wednesday afternoon! This group spent time focusing on reviewing the implementation of the Data Teams process across the district. The team was supported by a variety of our friends at Grant Wood AEA.

Professional learning on Wednesday afternoon had elementary staff learning more about instructional moves during writing conferences with students. They were able to watch a few of their colleagues teach and reflect on what they saw in the video and their own practices. The MS/HS team had a focus on universal design for learning with an intentional focus on reaching all learners in our classrooms.

"This is my 25th year of teaching at Benton. Being a part of this wonderful district and community has been incredibly rewarding and fulfilling. Some of my favorite memories at Benton are the Homecoming Pep Rally and the Veteran’s Day Program. Both of these programs show such a strong sense of community and family. Benton has been a great place to teach and raise our family."

On Thursday, April 25 members of the Benton Community National Honor Society will be heading out into the communities to offer assistance in any way they can to organize and participate in a community service project. They are particularly interested in helping those who cannot help themselves and/or projects that are just too big for your family. Ideas could be but are not limited to, derecho clean up, small painting projects, debris clean up, community ball field work, town parks, etc..
