Benton Community is in its second year of implementing Junior Achievement in partnership with area volunteers who are active in the community. During our five sessions, kindergartners will learn about practicing personal economics through choices, understanding the difference between needs and wants, learning about the concept of earning and saving money, and the importance of giving to a worthy cause.
In our second session with our volunteer, Shannon Morris, we learned about needs and wants. Through the use of visuals, she taught us that knowing the difference between needs and wants help people make good choices with their money. Making good choices helps us to have enough money to buy the things we need and want.
