This is our second year of implementing our SEL (Social Emotional Learning) curriculum at Benton Community. This curriculum entitled Character Strong focuses monthly on one of the key concepts such as respect, perseverance, empathy or gratitude to make a few. Our goal is to help develop each student’s ability to regulate their emotions, build positive relationships and be responsible decision makers.
The Character Strong curriculum also aligns nicely with our district’s PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Supports) program. The two work hand in hand with each other to help assist our students as they prepare to become productive citizens now and in the future.
