I am a firm believer in developing strong relationships with my students and athletes. I think that in order for a student to learn, they need to feel cared about and comfortable in my classroom, while at the same time being held to high standards and expectations. Below you will see a picture of my Global Affairs class debating the concept of overpopulation and if a future conflict with China is inevitable or not.
Currently in my American Government class, we are learning about how a bill becomes a law. While for many students this can seem like a very dry and boring subject, I try to bring some excitement to this topic by having my students create a board game about how a bill becomes a law. Typically students will use Sorry, Chutes and Ladders, or Candyland as their inspiration for their games. In the end, students will walk away with an understanding of the very convoluted and complicated process it takes for a bill to become a law.
