Our school year is transitioning into the winter months, and Benton Community Seniors are visualizing their transitions to life after high school.  Senior year goes quickly, and students have a lot of options!  Nationally, according to the 2023 Naviance Student Survey Report at 2023_Naviance_Student_Survey_Report.pdf (powerschool.com) 73% of 12th graders indicate that they are planning to attend a 2 or a 4 year college immediately after high school.  Locally, as I meet with Benton Community Seniors we are slightly above the national average as 75% of our current seniors indicate they are planning to attend a 2 or a 4 year college immediately after high school.   35% of our Senior class indicate that they are planning to pursue a career in the Career and Technical Education field, or more commonly known as an apprenticeship or trade school.  Most importantly, 96% of our class of 2023 have a clearly articulated goal in mind for life after high school.  We know that transitions are hard, and the class of 2024 is getting ready to embrace the next phase of their lives as Benton Community has prepared our soon-to-be graduates to take their next steps.
