Thank you to all the facilities committee volunteers, school board members, parents, teachers and everyone who took the time to vote on the bond referendum. Although the bond referendum did not pass, the issues that the referendum was intended to address are still present, and we will move forward to make sure we meet our mission: "A Quality Education for a Lifetime of Learning."
There is consensus that something needs to be done. Possible funding options include sales tax dollars for urgent improvements at Atkins Elementary and the high school/middle school or another general obligation bond referendum in the fall.
As we move forward, the Benton School Board and administration welcomes input as we work to make our schools safe, modern facilities home to high-quality education that our students deserve.
