Brooke Osborn, Special Education Teacher, Keystone Elementary
Collaboration and planning between the general education teacher, special education teacher, and para educators is essential to support students in an inclusive environment. This happens at least every week if not daily at Keystone Elementary. This collaboration time is used to determine accommodations and modifications for special education students, model strategies, and problem-solving to offer choices and or prevent problem behaviors. Collaborating with special teachers and the Grant Wood AEA team that supports our students like Speech-Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, and Physical Therapists is also important. Consistent collaboration is crucial to meet the needs of all our students.
