Winter Gear Drive: The Benton Dance Team is holding a Winter Gear Drive during the month of October. They are looking for donations of new or gently used hats, gloves, boots, snow pants, and coats (the greatest need is for items other than coats). All sizes (child and adult) are welcome. Please gather your donations or make a cash donation for items to be purchased by the team. Items can be brought to your child's school, and they will also be collecting at upcoming home football and volleyball games. Items will be distributed to students and community members throughout the district.
3rd Graders: If you are interested in youth bowling for 3rd through 8th grade at Keystone Turner Hall, please contact Melissa Lennie at 319.310.2843 to get signed up. Sessions start Saturday, October 16 at 10 am. It is a 6 week session.
Students at Benton Community are currently learning how to identify the main idea and supporting details in a text.
Our second graders are currently utilizing a Benchmark Literacy book to learn about whooping cranes. They were able to make connections with other text, real life connections, and hear what a whooping crane sounds like.
Another great Homecoming parade is in the books! 💙💛
THANK YOU!! We had amazing participation during the PIE IN THE FACE loose change contest. Now we wait…the winner will be announced during tomorrow’s pep rally. Which new teacher will take a pie in the face?
We had a visit from Benny the Bobcat, Captains of Benton’s fall sports teams and our cheerleaders.
They came to talk to the students about the importance of being respectful on and off the field.
We love Homecoming week!
Stop in the office if you want to purchase a temporary Bobcat tattoo!
