In June 2023, 30 students have the opportunity to travel to Spain for a 10-day learning experience. Students will be traveling around the country, visiting many famous landmarks and using their Spanish-speaking skills.
Each year the Spanish Club holds a fundraiser to help students offset the cost of this trip as well as to provide students with different opportunities to engage in Spanish club activities. Spanish club activities include going to a Mexican restaurant for dinner, attending a cooking night to cook authentic Spanish dishes, movie night, among other activities. Mr. Justin Liddle is the Spanish Club Advisor. “Spanish club is a great opportunity for students to get involved and get kids excited about Spanish outside of the classroom. We are excited about the opportunities we are providing this year,” says Justin.
For the past four years, the Spanish Club has done a fundraiser through Shelly’s Sweets in Newhall, Iowa. The fundraiser includes selling take-and-bake pizzas as well as cupcakes (sold in singles, ½ dozen, or by the dozen). Students will be selling pizzas and cupcakes starting January 9th until January 20th. Orders from the fundraiser will arrive on February 1st.
