Dear Parents,
As you know, we experienced a cancellation of 2.5 school days in January due to inclement weather.
February 21st will not be used as a student school makeup day. The student school hours built into our calendar are more than the minimum state requirements of 1,080 hours. When we developed our school calendar, additional hours were added to cover a few canceled school days and late starts.
To repeat, February 21st will remain as scheduled on our school calendar: No school for students, Professional Development for teaching staff.
If we experience additional school cancellations or late starts during the weeks ahead, we may need to schedule student school make-up days at the end of the school year. We will announce this as soon as possible if we experience several missed hours or days of school.
Thank you,
Dr. Pamela Ewell
Superintendent
