One of my math groups has been working very hard learning about fractions. Fractions can be difficult for students to learn and to understand. When my students are being introduced to fractions, one activity I like to do with them involves using these fraction manipulatives. These manipulatives help the students in many ways, but one particular way is they allow them to visualize the fractions. These hands-on activities help to facilitate a better understanding of the concepts being taught. In this particular lesson, students are using the fraction pieces to determine equivalent fractions.
