Are you interested in becoming a Benton Community cheerleader and want more information? There will be a mandatory informational meeting for parents and cheerleaders on Tuesday, February 8, at 5:30pm in the high school IMC/library. Tryout practices will be on February 14, 15, & 22.

Benton Community is seeking a dynamic Long Term Substitute High School Social Studies Teacher for the remainder of the 2021-2022 School Year. The assignment is focused on the following curricular areas: Government, Global Studies, and Modern America. Applicants will be expected to complete daily lesson planning, provide student feedback, and complete grading.

After fifteen (15) consecutive days in the same substitute teaching position, the substitute teacher will be placed on the salary schedule at the B.A. base salary on the first (1st) experience level. (FY’22 - $175.87/day.)

Benton Community’s Jenna Twedt had 15 points. Zoey Junge had seven rebounds. Emma Townsley had three assists. Grace Embretson had three steals. Benton (11-3) was 15 of 29 for field goals, 6 of 12 for three-pointers, and 5 of 8 for free throws. The team had 24 rebounds, eight assists, three steals, one block, 16 turnovers and 10 fouls. CPU (11-2) was 14 of 46 from the field, 2 of 15 for three-pointers, and 8 of 9 for free throws. They had 22 rebounds, seven assists, nine steals, two blocks, 11 turnovers and 12 fouls. Ryley Gobble had 23 for CPU.
Benton travels to Williamsburg (9-5) on Friday, and then goes to Union (3-9) in La Porte City at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 22, 2022.
