Benton Community Schools Life Science classes ended their semester with investigations modeling their knowledge of living systems. Biology students explored models that demonstrated the role of cellular division in producing and maintaining life. From their exploration students created their own flipbook models to illustrate how the cells of multicellular organisms undergo a controlled cell cycle in order to sustain these systems.
Human Biology 2 summarized their semester through the dissection of a fetal pig. As the students worked in lab groups they were given the opportunity to practice performing incisions and organ identification. Students were also asked to identify main organ systems and determine their role in maintaining homeostasis for living systems.
